Magnesium brick is made of more than 87% sintered magnesite as raw material, with magnesite as the main crystal phase in the products, and alkaline refractory materials combined with silicate.Because its matrix binding component is mainly CMS-M2S system, its softening temperature under load is not high, and its thermal shock resistance is poor, therefore, its application scope is relatively narrow.Some important properties of magnesia brick mainly depend on the properties of raw materials, the mineral composition and microstructure formed in the product, and are closely related to the density of the product.
Common magnesia brick is mainly used for flat and electric furnace wall and furnace bottom of steelmaking, which requires good slag resistance. The higher the density of brick, the lower the porosity and the smaller the porosity diameter, the stronger the resistance to slag erosion is correspondently.
